Gospel workshop and Concert Saturday 9th April starting at 2pm or 7pm
We are excited that John Fisher from IDMC Gospel Choir is leading this for us. It is an opportunity to have fun singing Gospel with others and to perform with members of the choir at an evening concert. No previous experience or singing expertise is needed, just the willingness to enjoy taking part. This is suitable for people with or without faith who think they would enjoy singing Gospel. Attached is a flyer with the more up to date information than before.
The workshop will be between 2pm and 5pm and the concert at 7pm. If anyone would like to stay for both you can bring a packed tea and we will provide drinks. The cost is £15 to take part in the workshop and concert and £5 if someone just wants to come to the concert.
Please let me know if you or anyone you know would like to book a place or contact me if you need any further information.
Every blessing Christine

Marta Fonseca Concert Friday 15th April - 7.30pm
Marta Fonseca is from Portugal and has been involved in music and singing from a very early age. Having studied for four years at the music conservatory in Lisbon in the area of piano, choral and solo singing, Marta has since made two albums of original Gospel recordings. She is currently working on her third album which will be based on a number of Psalms. A very talented singer, Marta sings songs that she herself has written, plus further original songs written by Portuguese songwriters with whom she has contact. At the same time Marta is a very gifted worship leader. One of the strong points that comes through Marta’s music is the wonderful simplicity of the Gospel message, sharing of the living hope we can all have in Christ Jesus.
Marta will be coming to the UK from Monday 4th April 2016 to the 18th April to take part in a program of informal concerts. She will be singing mainly in Portuguese (with the use of playback and electronic piano) with all of the lyrics being projected in English on screen so that all can enjoy the message of her music. She will also sing a small number of her recent songs in English, and there will be the opportunity for everyone to join in the singing of one or two well-known and well-loved hymns which are sung in both the UK and Portugal. Her visit is being arranged by Chris and Cámica Hemborough, who work in Portuguese speaking Africa through the charity Project Mozambique. During the evening people will have the opportunity to contribute to a number of overseas Christian projects, as well as enjoying the music of Marta.
