We aim to have a vibrant, worshipful and caring congregation, enable loving service through worship, fellowship and work in the local community and enable all who desire
a closer relationship with God.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK:
But Jesus said,
“Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you, and whenever you want, you can do good for them. But you will not always have me. She has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for burial.
And truly, I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her.”
Mark 14: 6-9 (ESV)
Our mission is to proclaim Gods love amongst ourselves and the community through service and witness.
We are a Local Ecumenical Partnership (LEP) between a United Reformed Church (URC) and Baptist Church, we operate as one Church, one community, one family in Christ. We were a merger between New Southgate Baptist and Christ Church United Reformed in 1993. We have 2 sites, The Church Sanctuary on Friern Barnet Road, and Grove Road Christian Centre (GRCC). Our Minister is Rev. Ruth Moriarty
The church is affiliated to the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the URC Synod. Situated on a main road, with a bus stop outside, the tube not far away, it is within easy reach of Central London.
We are a diverse mix of people reflecting the ethnic and cultural diversity of north London. Although we have the titles Baptist and United Reformed, like many churches we have people from virtually every church background and none.
Why not come and meet us? We have been told by people who have joined us recently they received a warm welcome and we are sure you will also!
Christ Church is opposite Princess Park Manor at the junction of Friern Barnet Road and Bellevue Road. Postcode is N11 3EP
The nearest train station is New Southgate and is a 10 minute walk to the church, the nearest underground station is Arnos Grove (Piccadilly Line) which is a 20 minute walk. Buses 382 and 221 stop by the church.
By car leave the M25 at junction 24 and then follow the signs to Southgate. We have a car park next to the church and parking is also free in the surrounding streets
